WSU Cougars: Sports coverage from The Spokesman-Review

SportsLink: Cougs

WSU Cougars men’s basketball posts from The Spokesman-Review’s SportsLink blog.

The beat goes on with Pac-12 links

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN — Set a new personal record by covering the 72 miles between Spokane and Pullman in just a shade over an hour. Just in time to put together our morning post.

On the basketball side, we have our game story from ASU's 71-67 win, plus our usual postgame entry with a quick overview. Also, we have a story giving an overview of WSU's football recruiting efforts so far. … Bud Withers has a look at the Cougars' assistant coaches. … The AP has a recap of Saturday's game. … Here's the game story from the Arizona Republic. … Lakes receiver Cedric Dozier will choose between Cal and WSU. …

Here's a look at Saturday's Pac-12 action …

Washington 69, Arizona 67: Tony Wroten blocked a shot in the final seconds to move the Huskies into first place by themselves (for now, anyway). A questionable blocking call allowed UW to take the lead late.

UCLA 77, Colorado 60: The Bruins ran away with this one at home, yet it's considered an upset. Colorado fell apart after halftime.

USC 62, Utah 45: Trojans win! Trojans win! And Utah loses. Again.

And today's games …

Oregon State at Oregon, 3:30 p.m.: Kevin McShane knows what it means to be a Beaver. Garrett Sim doesn't. Not anymore, anyway. The game will be decided by toughness.

Stanford at California, 5:30 p.m.: Both teams are waiting for their sophomore classes to mature.

That's all we have for now. We'll be back if events merit.

    Christian, thanks for the Links.
PS; that trip from Pullman to Spokane has been made a lot faster. In A 1968 Mustang in the Late 70’s most every weekend!!
See with no Radar Detector, nothing told us when to slow down.
Suprise some of us are still alive to tell the stories.

My brother is WSP, and lives in Pullman. I’ll make sure and let him know to be on the lookout. White Accord is it? :)

  • 195 really needs a day and night time differential speed limit. 60 is a joke during the day on that road.

To applaud Leach over Wulff in comparing their 1st year recruiting efforts is “beyond” rediculous!!

Wulff was hired at the of December and had 1 verbal commit from Doba’s last efforts. The rest of the remaining team, their athletic talent, academics and their behaviors were absolutely horrible!!

Don’t ever forget the “effort” Paul Wulff put into this situation as, too many fans will now suddenly come back and heap praise on anything satisfiying Cougar on the football field for 2012…and that will be due mostly to the players that have been at Wazzu for the last 4 years…not all the new LOI to be signed in 2 days!!
