We also posted on the blog with some notes and quotes from Ken Bone's meeting with the media, and had a preview box (shortened for space reasons) in the newspaper along with a brief note. … Howie Stalwick has a feature on Brock Motum in the Kitsap Sun that ran elsewhere a while back. … From the Washington side, here's a preview of the Huskies' Pac-12 season from Percy Allen. … Bud Withers predicts the Pac-12's order of finish.
In Pac-12 basketball news … As mentioned above, Arizona State held off Utah, 55-54 in overtime, in the first game of Pac-12 play. … Arizona wants to maintain its energy level when it faces Colorado today at 5 p.m. (ESPNU). … Shabazz Muhammad has fueled the recent success of UCLA, which hosts California at 8 p.m. today (FSN). … Stanford plays at USC tonight at 7 (ESPNU).
In Pac-12 football news … Oregon concludes the Pac-12 bowl season when it faces Kansas State tonight in the Fiesta Bowl (5:30 p.m., ESPN). Seems everyone makes money off bowls except for the key participants. Chip Kelly's days at Oregon may be few now. … A Utah defensive lineman is leaving school early. … Arizona's running back will (likely) end the season as the nation's leading rusher. … Colorado's new coach hired a whole bunch of his old assistants. … Stanford has some important players to replace next season.
