Is it Thursday already?

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN — Gameday never feels as close as it does on Thursday morning, especially when much of this week has been spent talking about a game that's already been played. Well, today we turn our attention toward UCLA. Read on.

OK, so that's not entirely true. We do have this blog post with practice notes and some comments from Bill Moos, via his radio appearances yesterday, about the Marquess Wilson situation. And we held a live chat yesterday to talk about the state of WSU football. But we did have this story taking a look at UCLA's turnaround in today's newspaper, as well as our weekly Pac-12 picks. … Howie Stalwick has a feature on Brock Motum, and this column about Mike Leach. … Bud Withers ponders Marquess Wilson's quandary. … The Everett Herald chimes in on some recent Leach soundbites. … The S-R's college basketball special section published today, and Jim Meehan has a good story on the influx of international talent amongthe region's colleges (Brock Motum, along with fellow Aussies James Hunter and Dexter Kernich-Drew, is obviously a big part of that). Here's our WSU preview story, along with a sidebar with five keys to the season and a difference maker (though we can't find the link at the moment. So pick up the hard copy). We also previewed Washington's season. … From UCLA: The Bruins have a formidable 1-2 punch at quarterback and running back. A Bruins receiver won't play this week against WSU.

Around the Pac-12 … A Washington running back is trying to finish first. Will UW try to avoid Utah's dangerous kick returner? … Here's a Huskies basketball preview. … More on Pac-12 penalties, this time from an Arizona perspective. … Arizona State's defensive tackle is ready to lead his team against USC. … Oregon State has some pretty good receivers, but not as good as USC's. … Oregon's star running back isn't just fast, he can break tackles, too. … Speaking of those USC receivers, the school is promoting one of them for Heisman. … Stanford's kicker is regaining trust. … The Mercury News has a bunch of Stanford basketball preview content. … California's defense has its hands full this week (and you can read the Mercury News' Cal basketball preview stuff here). … Colorado is struggling to … ah hell, does it matter? … The Daily Camera has its Pac-12 basketball preview. … Utah wants more sacks this week against Washington. The Utes also want their first road win.

All for now.
