Maybe he'll stab the Trojans' footballs and let a little air out. Too soon? … There will be plenty of NFL talent on the field when USC and UCLA get together. … Utah is envious of Arizona's turnaround. The Pac-12 is a new world for the Utes. … A Colorado linebacker has seen some hard times in his career. … And a UW linebacker is a quick study.

In basketball action last night … Albany shocked Washington with a 63-62 upset. … UCLA avoided a similar fate by holding off UC-Irvine in overtime. … California rolled past Pepperdine. … USC used a steady effort to beat Long Beach State.
