Another full Tuesday from WSU

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN — From Mike Leach's harsh words for his players to a quarterback decision, we have plenty to pass along from yesterday. And there is plenty more to do today with the Pac-12 coaches call and WSU returning to practice. Read on.

In today's newspaper, we wrote this WSU notebook and also took a first look at California. On the blog, we recapped yesterday's media day with a transcription, some video and some notes about WSU's depth chart. … Bud Withers details some of Leach's comments Monday in this story. … Howie Stalwick has this notebook in the Kitsap Sun, noting also that defensive lineman Lenard Williams has left the team. As with Dan Spitz, Williams is no longer listed on WSU's roster. From California: The Bears get an A-grade for their win over UCLA.

Around the Pac-12 … Arizona State coach Todd Graham doesn't mind moving players around. … Lots of talk from Washington about Keith Price's lackluster play so far, though his coach says it's not all his fault. … Stanford gets a C-grade for its win over Arizona. … Utah's offensive line is improving. … UCLA's running back is a little bruised, but not discouraged. … USC coach Lane Kiffin faces his old friend at Washington this week. … A freshman is tied for Colorado's team lead in tackles. … The big news in the Pac-12 yesterday was that Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion suffered a knee injury against WSU that will require surgery and will keep him out indefinitely.

All for now.
