A busy Tuesday starts with links


FROM PULLMAN — With a Pac-12 coaches conference call in the morning and Washington State practicing in the afternoon, it's another busy Tuesday. But that doesn't mean you don't have time for our morning spin around the Pac-12. Read on.

We have a couple of items in this morning's newspaper — a notebook written after WSU's media availability yesterday, and a first look at Colorado. We also have this look at WSU's updated depth chart and a recap of Mike Leach's press conference on the blog. … Howie Stalwick has this notebook and this column. … Colorado's president says he won't get involved in decisions about the school's football program, though the fact that the president is even saying anything this early in the season is not particularly encouraging. … 

Around the Pac-12 … Arizona knows it's going to have to play pretty darn well to have a chance against Oregon. … For the first time, Arizona State's two-quarterback system didn't work out so well for them. … It'll be tough for USC to reach the BCS championship game after its loss to Stanford. … UCLA coach Jim Mora appears to have things rolling. … Grading the performances of California and Stanford. … Oregon State is preparing for UCLA's up-tempo offense. … Oregon vs. Arizona is going to be a fun game to watch, if you like fast-paced offense. … Washington says it would be OK with NFL-style injury reports.
