City Attorney's Ombudsman Letter
Letter from City Attorney Howard Delaney to the Center for Justice informing the center that the city will attempt to gain stronger oversight for the police ombudsman by bargaining with the Spokane Police Guild. An arbitrator ruled that a law strengthening police oversight that was approved by City Council last year must be overturned. The center has suggested that the city take the matter to the Public Employment Relations Committee instead of backing down. The council is scheduled to consider reversing the law later this month.
