Joe Bodman

A candidate for Council Seat 1, City of Post Falls in the 2011 Idaho General Election

City: Post Falls, Idaho

Occupation: Spokane County deputy sheriff

On this race:

Bodman, 53, is a former three-term councilman who lost to Betty Henderson in 2009. He criticizes the current council for eliminating an urban renewal district that eventually would have created a bridge across Interstate 90 at Greensferry Road, creating more connections to the city for more residents. He also takes issue with the 2 percent tax increase, which he said Thoreson voted against in a public hearing but for when it became an ordinance, demonstrating inconsistency. He’s concerned about the city’s small businesses shutting down and wants to maintain public safety, parks and streets at their current levels. He said he’ll always be the voice of the people.
