City: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Edinger, 75, has served on the council for 40 years and said he’ll always have the taxpayers at the forefront of his mind. In his next term, he wants to save the Third Street boat launch and the ball fields at McEuen Field. He said other improvements can be made at the downtown park, including adding tennis courts, a skateboard park, basketball courts and a multipurpose field, but the city’s urban renewal agency shouldn’t spend all its money on a plan that costs too much. Edinger supported urban renewal projects, including the library, the Kroc Center and the education corridor, but doesn’t want to see a piece of Coeur d’Alene’s history disappear by eliminating the ball fields and boat launch. He said he supports job creation, by supporting Jobs Plus, the region’s economic development organization.
