City: Post Falls, Idaho
Occupation: Retired from state Correction Department
Grant, 55, has been on the council since November 1990, the past 12 years as president. He said experience and his historical perspective matter on the council. He’d like to see continued growth in the commercial, industrial and medical sectors and still wants to see Post Falls develop a vibrant downtown. He acknowledges raising taxes by 2 percent but said the council held the line for two years and was at a point where quality of life services would have been affected. The council had trimmed the fat by cutting the budget and laying people off, he said. For six of the past eight years, Grant has been the city’s representative on the board of Jobs Plus, a business recruitment organization.
