Education: Graduated from Ferris High School in 1984. Earned an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Earned an MBA from Webster University.

Political background: Appointed state representative in 4th Legislative District in January 2014 when Rep. Larry Crouse retired early. Lost primary election to keep the seat in August 2014. Ran unsuccessfully for Spokane County auditor in 2010.

Work experience: Joined the U.S. Air Force in 1984 and worked as a recruiter, jet engine mechanic and oversaw implementation of aircraft computer systems before retiring as a master sergeant after 20 years of service. Former real estate broker for Windermere Real Estate and Tomlinson Black Real Estate. Current real estate agent with Live Real Estate. Member of Spokane County’s Board of Equalization, which handles appeals of assessment valuations.

Family: Married. Has two children and two grandchildren.
