Miss Manners: We’re begging you. Use the guest towels

DEAR MISS MANNERS: I have a cute storage rack in my guest bathroom that holds hand soap and a stack of paper towels. But more often than not, guests will use the bath towels hanging on the towel bar instead. I’ve even pulled the rack closer to the sink and put a used paper towel in the trash.

Miss Manners: Your side dish is throwing off my whole meal

DEAR MISS MANNERS: How do I politely decline a close relative’s offer to bring an appetizer or side dish to our annual large family gathering? His bringing something requires me to take food out of my oven and adjust the temperature to accommodate his heating instructions. It throws off my timing for the whole meal – for a house full of hungry people – and causes me no end of stress and aggravation.

Barbra Streisand to receive 2024 SAG Life Achievement Award

Barbra Streisand owns 10 Grammys, two Oscars, five Emmys, three Peabodys, an honorary "Star of the Decade" Tony and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Come February, she'll have an award from one of the few groups on the planet yet to celebrate her. Streisand has been named the 59th recipient of SAG-AFTRA's highest tribute, the organization announced Thursday: the SAG Life Achievement Award
