Dorothy Tarleton, of Coeur d’Alene, was an Army nurse in World War II. She was stationed on Tinian, the island from which the U.S. military launched atom bomb attacks on Japan in 1945 and was later part of the Army occupation forces in Japan, where she worked as a DJ in her spare time.
