Back to work: Often the best photos happen at the beginning of a shoot or at the end. This happened after the scheduled assignment was over and the subjects had gone back to doing what they do best. Shannon Morse and her herding dogs, Cricket and Freddie, head to the barn area at the Cowgirl Co-0p on Oct. 16 near Colbert, Wash. Morse whistled for her dogs to heel and they were off and galloping through the meadow with the rush of the horses tagging along. It is a goal of The Spokesman-Review photographers to capture the world around us in the most candid manner possible. Morse and her animals were in their true element for just a few seconds.
