Never Had It So Good: "Oscar the Owl," newest pet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Hawley, S2122 Park drive, gets ready to take a bite of food from Jim Hawley, 10, while his sister Ann, 5, watches fascinated. When he found a baby sparrow with an injured wing, Donald J. Boss, W105 Hawthorne Road, put it in a bird cage and put the cage outdoors. Soon a robin came along and attempted to feed the ailing bird but gave up the effort when the sparrow rejected the robin's fare of worms. But since then, two adult sparrows have been making frequent daily trips to the Boss residence to feed the bird. MESS CALL: Hungry, always hungry, are these 3-week-old robin infants. the hand belongs to Mrs. George B. Bergen, N4711 Cook, who rescues the birdlets after they plummeted from their 50-foot-high, rain-weakened next. Mrs. Bergen now feeds the robins hourly from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Each bird puts away about eight worms in two hours, plus bread and milk servings in between.
