Steelheading upstream

Each fall, steelhead that have swam upstream from the ocean around 500 miles reach the Riggins area of the Salmon River on their way to spawning areas. Outdoors editor Rich Landers spent an October day on the Salmon with drift boat guide Norm Klobetanz and Amy Sinclair of Exodus Wilderness Adventures to see why this fishery attacts anglers who sometimes come from as far as the fish. Read Landers’ story in Sunday’s Outdoors section.
