Spokane and Coeur d'Alene area school districts, colleges, some federal offices and at least one library district were closed Thursday after up to a foot of snow fell in the area overnight.
Most of the major school districts in the Spokane area, including the Spokane, Mead, West Valley and Central Valley districts, as well as Washington State University in Spokane, Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University and many of the outlying, rural districts, are closed today due to snow and extreme cold temperatures. In Idaho, the Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls districts are among those closed.
The Spokane County Library District has closed its Airway Heights, Cheney, Fairfield and Otis Orchards branches.
Federal courts are closed, as is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Office.
