A Mercedes-Benz SUV with a paint job designed by Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei is on display in Hong Kong on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 before being auctioned. The artwork, called "The Dog Mobile: A Car For Francis Bacon By Ai Wei Wei," is painted on a Mercedes G-Wagon and is expected to fetch US$200,000-300,000 at an auction in Hong Kong held by Japan's Est-Ouest Auctions Co. Tuesday night. The design features a simple drawing of an Irish wolfhound named after British painter Francis Bacon and a dog dish with the artist's name on it. Ai was detained for nearly three months earlier this year and is currently confined to Beijing. He has become one of China's most famous artists but his works don't come up for auction very often.
