Gonzaga plays Creighton at home, Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.
Fifty-four points in the second half. Zach Norvell Jr. going from zero to 21 in not quite that many minutes. Silas Melson, career high in points. Killian Tillie, career high in points. This drive, that dunk, this 3, that three-point play.
The Zags needed Silas Melson in the first half. They needed Killian Tillie all game. And they really needed ‘Snacks’ in the second half.
The Bluejays assisted on 13 buckets in the first half, but didn’t disperse the ball nearly as well in the second, dishing out just four assists. They paid a price for trying to be aggressive around the rim, scoring 20 points in the first half compared to 12 in the second.
The 15th-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs rallied in the second half to run away from 25th-ranked Creighton on Friday, winning 91-74 at the McCarthey Athletic Center. It’s too bad others involved with the game that was broadcast into our homes couldn’t find their form after halftime as well.
