Chris Bovey: Bovey, whose vintage poster prints feature iconic signs, storefronts and signs around Spokane, said that it would “be cool” to restore a covered U.S. Pavilion that gave visitors a flavor of Expo ‘74.
“Here you have a couple of generations that have never witnessed that with their own eyes,” Bovey, whose print of the Clocktower in Riverfront Park includes the silhouette of an uncovered pavilion, said. But he was also concerned about potential costs to citizens.
“As a taxpayer, I wouldn’t want to waste millions of dollars every year just because it’s kind of retro and cool,” he said.
