Former Lilac Queen Shelley Broader

When Chico CEO Shelley Broader was 17 years old, she was crowned Lilac Festival queen in April 1982. As a Lilac Queen, she represented Spokane in more than 50 Lilac Week events and 25 to 30 area wide celebrations during the summer. She visited Shriners’ Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and Veterans Adminstration Medical Center.
