Then and Now: Spokane's first public library
The stately building at 10 S. Cedar St. was Spokane's first public library, completed in 1905. Most of the funding came from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.

1980 - After 75 years of use as Spokane’s first library and as a nursing school, the 1905 Carnegie library at 10 S. Cedar St. stands empty. It would stay empty for several more years before Integrus Architecture would move in and renovate it for its offices. The neoclassical design came from architects Herman Preusse and Julius Zittel.
