Pelicans on Hauser Lake
A flock of pelicans feed on Hauser Lake on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. The pelican is one of the largest birds in North America, with a 9-foot wingspan. Populations breeding east of the Rocky Mountains migrate south and east, mostly along river valleys, to winter along the Gulf of Mexico. Populations west of the Rockies migrate over deserts and mountains to the Pacific coast.
