Splash pad

On hot days, and even some cooler ones, kids flock to the Kiwanis Club-sponsored interactive splash pad between the pavilion and play area. Adults can relax on stone walls and enjoy the little ones frolicking in the jets, sprays and water canons. Watch for the effect of a wake behind the boat. (One early idea was to incorporate an old Lake Coeur d’Alene tugboat into the splash pad, but consumer safety concerns made that too great a challenge.) The splash pad water is from the municipal supply, not drawn from the lake, but it drains to a cistern used to irrigate grass and plants in the park.
