Spokane Scottish Highland Games

56th annual celebrates the traditions of Highland dance, bagpipe and drumming exhibitions, and Heavy Athletic competitions. Opening ceremonies are held at the main stage where seven bagpipe bands from all over the Northwest will perform. Live Celtic music can be enjoyed all day long. Special events such as the tug-of-war challenge, along with sword demonstrations, historical reenactments, and Scots Gaelic classes will take place throughout the day. Children’s Scottish games and “Braveheart style” face painting, balloon swords and kids’ kilts are featured. Celtic merchants and clan tents can be visited as well as the blacksmith, Highland cattle, and sheepherding.
