Spokane Heart & Stroke Walk and 5K Run

Heart and stroke survivors, community teams, and company teams come together for heart-healthy walk and run in support of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. This fun event is open to all ages and features activities for the whole family. The 5K walk is non-competitive and the 5K run is chipped and timed. Proceeds help prevent, treat and defeat heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers of Americans. 9 a.m., Opening ceremonies; 9 a.m.-noon, Kids Zone with fun activities; 9:45 a.m., Miracle Mile begins; 10 a.m., Kids 1K fast dash with mascots; 10:15 a.m., Start of 5K run; 10:20 a.m., Walkers start. Packet Pickup for 5K Run on Friday, 3-7 p.m., 1303 N. Washington St.
