‘Think & Drink’ set for Sept. 25 will explore costs of health care

A free “Think & Drink” event Sept. 25 will invite experts and laypeople to consider the cost of health care.

“Ills, Pills & Bills: Why Does American Healthcare Cost So Much?” will ask questions such as: What is our relationship to health care? What influences the price of health care in the U.S.?

The conversation will be led by Dr. Jeff Collins, chief medical officer at Providence Health Care in Eastern Washington, and Sean Murphy, a professor of health policy and administration at Washington State University, according to a news release from Humanities Washington. Shann Ray Ferch, a professor of leadership studies at Gonzaga University and an author, will serve as moderator.

The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Lindaman’s Gourmet To Go, 1235 S. Grand Blvd. in Spokane. It’s part of the “Think & Drink” discussion series, presented in pubs and tasting rooms around the state by Humanities Washington.
