"Poop is my life," says Ross Stout, the district manager of the South Fork Coeur d'Alene River Sewer District, as he explains daily operations of the Page Water Treatment Plant near Smelterville. Too much groundwater and storm water is getting into the sewer system, which means heavy metals are being discharged into the Coeur d'Alene River.
