Firefighters move closer to a burning trailer Monday while fighting a brush and timber fire west of Spokane. The fire sent smoke over Interstate 90 and disrupted westbound traffic while firefighters from Fire District 10, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Spokane International Airport worked to keep the flames from nearby structures. The fire started on the north side of the freeway near Geiger Boulevard and was brought under control after more than an hour.chrisa@spokesman.com
