Eva Roberts, owner of Just American Desserts in the Spokane Valley, rolls the pastry for a traditional yule log. The first step is to roll baked sponge cake on parchment paper sprinkled with confectioners’ sugar. The sugar keeps the cake from sticking to the parchment.
