Gifts to the state of Washington from British Columbia, these Bighorn sheep are in a special 400-acre fenced tract in the Okanogan area. Bighorn sheep disappeared from the Cascades about 1900. The British Columbia sheep are expected to form the nucleus of what may be a large herd. The sheep will be protected, with no open hunting season for at least 10 years.
