Idaho state school Supt. Tom Luna tells reporters that Idaho still needs to cut up to $62 million from public schools next year, despite the federal economic stimulus funds coming to the state. Fresh from a White House meeting about the stimulus, Luna did say, however, that he’s learned that the Obama Administration plans to permanently and dramatically increase funding for special education, freeing local school district funds for other uses.
