Sunrise Elementary School custodian Dave Neilsen balances himself as he leads a group of children over the icy entryway to the school as students returned from their extended winter break Thursday. Dozens of supervisors helped students get off buses and out of cars, and guided them safely into the school. Central Valley spokeswoman Melanie Rose noted that, “almost all the walkers are being driven,” which created quite a traffic jam at 24th and Adams.
