Jews sit in the Great Synagogue during a commemoration of those killed across Romania during a revolt led by members of the Iron Guard fascist party between Jan. 21-23, 1941 in Bucharest, Romania, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009. About 800,000 Jews lived in Romania before World War II, half of them died during the war or were sent to concentration camps. Only about 6,000 Jews live in Romania at present according to official statistics.
