Jennifer Barker, center, and son Ian Barker, 7, get kayak paddles from volunteer Caleb Campbell at Sekani Adventure Day on Saturday. It was a first time for the Barkers to paddle together, and they were able to try rafting, canoeing and kayaking in an hour’s time. The event was put on by the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department at Camp Sekani, a natural area along Upriver Drive.
