Katie Hardy sits at her home in Coeur d’Alene, with a picture of orphaned children from Africa. Hardy is a communications major at Lewis-Clark State College-CDA and is an activist dedicated to helping children in Africa known as the Night Commuters. The orphaned children travel by night in an effort to evade being kidnapped and forced to serve by killing or becoming sex slaves in the Ugandan Lord’s Rebel Army.
