Tony McGrath, of Spokane Valley, holds one of his father’s World War II dog tags. He received the tag from a merchant seaman from Burlington, Wash., who got it from a resident of the island of Rendova in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. John McGrath died in 1986.
