A customer shops in the kitchen appliances section of a Rogers, Ark., Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart’s remodeling program of its 3,600 namesake stores will lower shelves and widen aisles to give shoppers a clearer path. The renovations, which will cost from $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion this fiscal year, also will expand its electronics areas.
