Deborah Rose, South Hill: “It’s a specific summer. ‘When you are going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair.’ 1972. That summer, I went to San Francisco. The cable car driver stopped the cable car by the flower vendor and bought me a bunch of flowers to remember San Francisco.”
