MESS CALL: Hungry, always hungry, are these 3-week-old robin infants. the hand belongs to Mrs. George B. Bergen, N4711 Cook, who rescues the birdlets after they plummeted from their 50-foot-high, rain-weakened next. Mrs. Bergen now feeds the robins hourly from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Each bird puts away about eight worms in two hours, plus bread and milk servings in between. Chronicle photographer Wesley Cameron took the picture. Photo Archive/ The Spokesman-Review.
