Washed out: West Valley High School students get blown by “rotor wash” – air driven downward by a copter’s main rotor – as they get an up-close look at the Army Blackhawk helicopter flown to the school Thursday. The visit allowed engineering students to get a hands-on look and interact with crew members, several of whom are Spokane Valley residents and were deployed to the Iraq and Afghanistan war zones. West Valley has a weeklong Veterans Day schedule of events that will culminate with a rally Tuesday.
