Water ride: Water rushes over U.S. Highway 101 in Seaside, Ore., on Tuesday. A powerful storm slammed the area with high winds and heavy rain. Winds exceeded 60 mph in some parts of the north coast Monday. Farther south, wind gusts at or exceeding 89 mph were reported at Waldport and Garibaldi. A gust clocked at 95 mph rocked Cape Foulweather.
