jesset@spokesman.com Dishing up deals: Deb Redden, left, and Janet Hutsell arrange housewares at the new Volunteers of America Thrift Store at 6202 E. Trent Ave. on Tuesday. The VOA thift store closed in December 2008 after the building’s roof collapsed, and it has taken managers Bill and Theresa Mitchell more than a year to find a new location and stock it for the opening this Friday. The proceeds from the store support VOA efforts in housing and support programs, including Crosswalk teen shelter and Hope House women’s shelter. Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
