Murder victim Tanner E. Pehl, 20, was known for his outgoing personality. He met Justin Crenshaw after Crenshaw was hired at Brooklyn's Woodfire Grill, where Pehl worked as a cook. A friend of Pehl's told detectives after the murders that Pehl had said Crenshaw "liked to fist fight and was very violent when he got drunk," according to police reports.
