From the heart: Jennifer Amador, right, hands bag after bag of donations to Saige Casady, center, in front of the Spokane Valley Walmart on Friday, while Mike White, left, looks on. Casady initiated a drive to collect items to send to U.S. military servicemen and servicewomen in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of her senior project, and White and others from the American Legion Riders Post 9 in Spokane jumped in to help. The group will be outside the store today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to continue the collection. “I’ve always had the troops in my heart,” said Casady, who is a junior at Lind (Wash.) High School. She will combine the donations into individual gift packs with a handwritten note in each one. She has already mailed off more than 100 gift packs.
