Resident shoots intruder: A K-9 team runs along East 40th Street in Tacoma, a block from the scene of a shooting Monday. Police say a male resident who was home at the time of an apparent break-in shot and killed an intruder. Spokesman Mark Fulghum said the resident fired multiple times through the bedroom door. One or more intruders fled the home after the shooting, police said.
