Saluting a comrade: Members of the Bureau of Land Management’s honor guard carry the casket of Caleb Hamm past fellow wildland firefighters at a hotel in Boise on Thursday. Federal land managers say Hamm was working on a wildfire west of Fort Worth, Texas, in extreme heat a week ago when he collapsed. Hamm was being taken to a nearby hospital when he died. Hamm’s crew is based in Salt Lake City. He lived in Boise, where his funeral was held.
