In this Monday, March 14, 2011 photo, Sandhill Cranes fly in formation against a sunset near Gibbon, Neb. About half a million sandhill cranes stop along an 80-mile stretch of the Platte River for three to four weeks each spring in March and April before continuing their journey to Canada, Alaska and Siberia.
