SCC prepares for “Spring in Paris” flower show: From left, Spokane Community College floral, greenhouse and nursery students Jenny Harper, Olesya Gnatenko and Steve Caron finish off a butterfly floral display as Heather Konsbruck snaps a photograph on Thursday in the school’s greenhouse classroom. Students are preparing for the second annual Spring Flower Show, themed “Spring in Paris,” on Saturday. Flowers used in the butterfly include mums, spider mums, carnations, solidaster, roses and anemones. The show will include larger-than-life floral exhibits, a fresh flower, plant and herb market, and arts and crafts booths. The event runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the SCC Lair-Student Center.
