Rhoda Hunter, tribal council secretary of the Tule River Indian Reservation, walks into Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church for Mass, Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Tule River Indian Reservation in California. The church bell, its tower being renovated, has tolled throughout the day on Sunday to honor those killed in what many believe is the worst mass murder in tribal history. Hector Celaya, 31, is a suspect in shootings in which three people died and four others, including two young girls, were wounded Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, on the reservation in the Sierra foothills of California's Central Valley. Since 1933 the church bell has slowly tolled to alert tribal members when someone dies. "That's our way of notifying our people that someone has passed away," Hunter said.
